• I offer virtual sex, intimacy, and relationship therapy for individuals, couples, and diverse relationship structures throughout California and New York. My work is rooted in attachment, emotional connection, sexuality, identity exploration, and relational healing.

  • Both. I work with individuals, couples, and relationships of many forms and identities. Therapy may focus on intimacy, communication, desire, sexuality, relational conflict, self-discovery, identity exploration, emotional connection, or healing from shame and disconnection.

  • Absolutely. As a queer person myself, I strive to create a compassionate, validating, and sex-positive space for all humans, with particular attention to intersectionality, identity, and the impact of social oppression.

  • Yes. I provide affirming support for polyamorous, consensually non-monogamous, open, and kink relationships. My approach is nonjudgmental, collaborative, and rooted in helping clients create relationships that feel aligned and authentic to them.

  • Sex therapy is talk therapy that supports people in exploring their relationship with sexuality, intimacy, pleasure, desire, identity, and connection. Sessions may address emotional, relational, psychological, or behavioral patterns impacting sexual wellbeing and relationships. We will often collaborate to identify home opportunities to engage between sessions that supports our therapeutic process.

  • Not at all. While sexuality and intimacy may be part of the work, sessions move at your pace. Many clients begin by exploring emotional connection, communication, attachment patterns, shame, anxiety, or relational dynamics before discussing sexuality directly.

  • All services are currently offered virtually through a HIPAA-compliant platform. Virtual therapy can offer increased convenience, accessibility, privacy, and comfort for many clients.

  • Virtual therapy allows you to attend sessions from the comfort of your own space, eliminates commuting and parking, and often creates greater flexibility and consistency. Many clients find being at home helps them access emotions more comfortably.

  • My approach is compassionate, relational, sex-positive, trauma-informed, and attachment-based. I integrate modalities including:

    • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

    • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

    • Narrative Therapy

    • Attachment-based approaches

    • Motivational Interviewing

    • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

    • DBT-informed tools

    • Trauma-informed care

    • Sex therapy frameworks

  • Being sex positive means approaching sexuality without shame or judgment. I believe sexuality is a meaningful and important part of many people’s lives and identities, and therapy should provide space for curiosity, education, healing, communication, and empowerment.

  • The first session is an opportunity to get to know each other, explore what brings you to therapy, discuss goals, and begin understanding patterns, challenges, and hopes for the work ahead. You do not need to prepare anything perfectly before arriving.

  • Finding the right therapeutic fit matters deeply. I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can connect, discuss your needs, and determine whether working together feels aligned.

  • Depending on your needs, I may offer therapy, coaching-oriented support, or relational guidance. During a consultation we can discuss what type of support would best fit your goals.

  • Yes. Therapy sessions are confidential within the legal and ethical limits required by law. All virtual sessions are conducted through a secure HIPAA-compliant platform.

  • I am an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly. I can provide superbills for possible reimbursement through your insurance plan.

    • Individual sessions: 50 minutes

  • You can reach out through the contact form on Amy Bouvin, LCSW, CST to schedule a free consultation and learn more about working together.

  • Not at all. Many individual clients come to therapy to explore their relationship with themselves, dating, sexuality, attachment patterns, identity, or emotional wellbeing. Therapy can support you whether you are partnered, single, dating, healing, questioning, or rebuilding.

  • Sometimes, and in collaboration with you, so not in a rigid or demanding way. Depending on your goals, I may offer reflections, communication exercises, rituals for connection, journaling prompts, mindfulness practices, or relational experiments to continue integrating the work outside of session.

  • I ask for at least 72 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling, limited to 3 per year as a biweekly client and 5 per year as a weekly client. Sessions cancelled without sufficient notice or beyond the allotted quantity will be subject to the full session fee. I hold myself to the same expectations as you.

  • Most clients begin with weekly or biweekly sessions to build momentum, consistency, and depth in the work. It’s always hard to estimate how long someone may be engaged in a therapeutic process depending on goals and progress. It’s something we can and will check in around regularly.

  • In accordance with the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the cost of services. I am committed to transparency and will provide this estimate upon request.
